Along with startup experts, aspiring technopreneurs, social media enthusiasts, online freelancers, designers and artists, ‘Geeks On A Beach’ (GOAB) made its second leg this time in Cebu on August 21-22 at Movenpick Resort and Spa Cebu, Mactan Island.

The two-day conference will be a techfest which will serve as a venue where people can meet-and-greet and learn experiences about technopreneurship, design and start-ups from the world’s most-promising tech leaders who will share ways and topics on social media businesses, graphic design, mobile apps, technology and many more.

The event will introduce ample networking opportunities with a bunch of passionate tech people, investors and startups to foster innovation and teamwork.

Topics in GOAB 2 are: Uncut: a realistic review of Philippine start-ups, women in technology, and investing in social entrepreneurship, among many other significant and must-talked about issues.

Multi-faceted talks, with a panel of approachable speakers, are set-up to bring out natural and open interaction between speakers and joiners while seating and engaging an array of breakout sessions.

To showcase the best of the Philippines pride to the International tech community, GOAB choose Cebu following its debut in Boracay last year. Cebu, because it is known as the country’s fastest growing commercial, business-centered city and tech hub.

“We choose Cebu because, aside from we love the place, (but) also to showcase the best of the Philippines, our resources that we are proud of can be found in Cebu with its world-class beaches and resorts”, said Tina Amper, Founder of Techtalks.ph and GOAB Organizer, during the press conference recently.

Amper added that the main idea in gathering all the best of the world– experts, innovators, founders, tech lovers and startup technopreneurs –is to make the world a better place.

This year’s GOAB 2 anticipates to have a bigger and grander event that will surpass last year’s turnout with the confirmed arrival of more big names in the tech industry.

Amper said those who have confirmed their participation in GOAB 2 are Bowei Gai of World Startup Report, Maria Ressa of Rappler, Jason Torres of Proudcloud, and DOST-ICTO deputy executive director Monchito Ibrahim.

There are also industry leaders who are expected to arrive for the gathering which includes international and local leaders and founders.

“The attendance of these influential people will surely generate interest among technopreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs,” said Amper.
