False Belief
“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces[a] of this world rather than on Christ,” Colossians 2:8
You may ask the question: “I know this is a wonderful season of the year, but I feel so empty. How can I fill that emptiness?” Friends, do not be deceived by what the world dictates. The world (ideologies, philosophies, principles, beliefs, fashion, trend) makes you believe that you shouldn’t be feeling such in this time of the year. Know then that the true essence of Christmas is Jesus Christ. A Savior was born 2,000 years ago to save us from sins. We were supposed to die of our sins, but God saved us by sending His Son Jesus Christ to us to make the rescuing operations. Next time you feel like you’re empty, that you don’t have material things this Christmas season, you didn’t receive any gift or doesn’t have a boyfriend to be with around to celebrate the occasion with you, think about the deeper meaning of Christmas. Think Jesus. It’s not supposed to be a time of lavishness of material things or squandering of your wealth, but a time to reflect of the One true Jesus Christ. Take time, take a pause and meditate on God’s Word. Try the Christmas story: Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 2:1-21
