Consolacion Ready for its 101st Founding Anniversary

The town of Consolacion in northern Cebu is set to celebrate their 101st anniversary on February 6, 2021.

However, all activities and programs related to the said anniversary celebration will be conducted virtually for health and safety purposes.

“Padayon ta sa atong mga routine, padayon ta sa atong mga pangandoy. Let us continue to aspire for it and work for it but let’s do it safely,” said Consolacion Mayor Joannes Alegado.

Dubbed as “Consolacion @ 101, Adapting, Transforming and Progressing”, the celebration will start on February 2 with a municipal-wide tree planting conducted by certain government employees from the Municipal hall and different barangays.

The week-long celebration will also feature a spoken word poetry contest, Sarok Festival king and queen, a costume exhibit, and more. The celebration will end by giving recognition to Governor Francis Burton Harrison on February 6.

Meanwhile, the mayor added that people should be reminded to observe strict health and safety protocols since the COVID-19 threat is still present. (MLC)
