City Prepares For Sinulog 2016

Elected Mayor Michael L. Rama and Acting Mayor Edgar C. Labella talks about the City’s preparation for this coming sinulog festival during a press conference held today at the Rizal Library and Museum.

Rama said that this year’s Sinulog will be a mega sinulog so there is no room for complacency. Rama mentioned that tents should not be placed on sidewalks while street parties are also not allowed along the carousel route. There should also be no obstructions 100 meters away from the carousel route.

On the other hand, Acting Mayor Edgardo Labella said that a team from the City Health Department was formed to inspect the food stalls along the carousel route to prevent food poisoning. Labella wants the dangling wires especially those that are near the parade entrance removed so that floats and giant puppets won’t get hit. Throwing of goodies to the crowd will also be prohibited as it will most likely cause accidents. Labella also mentioned putting up a holding center manned by a PNP personnel for those who misbehave like people getting drunk and rowdy.
