Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia visited the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) on July 30, to inspect the whole operation and all the amenities of the terminal.

Garcia visited the CSBT’s office, canteen, comfort rooms, stores inside the terminal and also checked the condition of the buses parked in the terminal.

Garcia assessed that the terminal needs to be improved and developed for the betterment of every Cebuano.

“Ako nato gi instructionan ang provincial engineer nga tan-awon ni pag ayo, ang atong general look mura kinanglan gyud usbon, this is our pride as Cebuanos (I’ve already instructed the provincial engineer to check on everything and the general look needs to be improved. This is our pride as Cebuanos),” Garcia said.

Garcia added that there are a lot of entrepreneurs who rent inside the terminal and they deserve a beautiful and clean establishment.

According to the final assessment of Garcia, they need to fix broken comfort room doors, repaint walls and install additional CCTV cameras for security purposes.

Officials from the Cebu Provincial Capitol, CSBT Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Carmen Quijano, Provincial Treasurer Atty. Roy Salubre and some Board Members accompanied the Governor during the inspection.

“Kuyog nako ang akong mga board members kay ang ilang constituents ako man sang constituents nga maoy mugamit aning terminal (My board members are here with me because their constituents are also my constituents who will use this terminal),”Garcia said.

Meanwhile, Atty. Roy Salubre, the Provincial Treasurer said that the CSBT collected P5.8 million as of July 30 and it may increase since they are expecting a P200,000 collection on July 31.

“Kaning P5.8 million possible pani musaka sa P6.3 million kay nag expect tag P200,000 karong adlawa (This P5.8 million will most likely increase to P6.3 million because we are expecting a P200,000 income collection for today),” Salubre said.

Salubre also explained that the biggest income generator are the parking fees and comfort room fees. (MLC)
