Boracay Targets 2-M Tourists for 2017
The Aklan Provincial Government is targeting around two million foreign and local tourists this year 2017.
Niven Maquirang, Jetty Port Administrator, said Tuesday that they have reached the projected 1.7 million or 1, 1,724,125 tourists registered for 2016.
First in the list of top 10 foreign arrivals are still South Korea with 292, 869; China, 259, 439; Taiwan, 53, 208; Malaysia, 24, 465; United States of America, 21, 274; Australia, 14, 883; United Kingdom, 14, 397; Australia, 11, 978; Russia, 9,834 and Singapore, 9,724.
Maquirang said they anticipate an influx of tourists coming this year as Boracay is considered an official venue for the 50th year ASEAN Summit in the first quarter. Report said around four meetings of both senior and ministerial officials are being allocated.
