Attacks in Iraq Kill Dozens
At least 70 people have been killed in the numerous bombings and attacks across northern and central Iraq, officials say.
Police appeared to have been the targets of these deadly attacks. A recent suicide-bombing incident in a security checkpoint in Mosul killed at least nine police officers, Mosul officials said.
Several people were also killed in separate attacks along Kirkuk, Tikrit, Taji, and Thuz Khurmato.
Authorities say hundreds of people have been injured in the recent car bombings and shootings.
Iraqi parliament member Husain Hamham said at least 15 people were killed and 30 others were wounded when bombs targeting a vegetable market went off in a succession.
The recent attacks across Iraq have triggered alarm for a possible return of the worst cases of sectarian violence in the nation.
