Warrant of Arrest Served to Trillanes

Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 (RTC) served the warrant of arrest to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV after President Rodrigo Duterte voided his amnesty Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

Weeks after Duterte voided the amnesty given to Trillanes on 2011, Makati RTC Branch 150 served the warrant to the Senator today.

Judge Elmo Alameda made a 2-page order to arrest Trillanes and also prohibited Trillanes from leaving the country without permission through a Hold Departure Order.

Senator Trillanes was immediately brought to the Makati Police Station for proper booking.

Although the filed warrant was temporarily bailable, the Senator will face the charges filed against him prior to his amnesty.

Senator Trillanes claims that he filed an amnesty to former President Benigno Simeon Aquino III on 2011 and was legitimately approved.

The senator led 2 coups d’etat in the past against former President Gloria Arroyo on 2003 and 2007.
