Over 36K Pass Teachers Board Exams

A total of 36,710 examinees passed the Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Wednesday.

The number of passers this year comprise a 23.62 percent passing rate which is 2.71 percent lower than the most recent LET exams last September 2017.

The PRC said 13,774 of the passers are elementary teachers while 22,936 are secondary teachers. For the elementary teachers, 4,360 were first timers and 9,414 were repeaters; while for the secondary teachers, 15,035 passers were first timers and 7,901 were repeaters.

John Michael Tagayon dela Paz from University of the Philippines Diliman ranked first in the exams with an average of 88.80 percent. He was followed by Mary Angeline Lagasca Cabal also from the same school, with an average 88.60 percent.

Around 100,000 examinees took the test in 20 testing centers nationwide last March 2018 in the following areas: Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Catarman, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Kidapawan, Legazpi, Lucena, Occidental Mindoro, Pagadian, Palawan, Romblon, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
