Ginebra Pummels GlobalPort in QF Clash

Ginebra showed why it is the top-seeded team in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals, ousting eighth-seeded GlobalPort, 96-85, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Tuesday night.

The Barangay used a 20-1 run late in the third quarter to pull away for good.

But despite the blowout result, the match still had some drama as Terrence Romeo and LA Tenorio had a verbal tussle after the former gave a hard foul on the latter.

The referees ruled the said infraction as a Flagrant Foul Penalty 2, sending Romeo to the showers. Tenorio and Coaches Tim Cone and Franz Pumaren each incurred technical fouls as well.

Japeth Aguilar led Ginebra, which will face either TNT and Meralco in the semifinals, with 21 points and eight rebounds.
