Just in: Thunderstorm Brings Heavy Rains over NCR Tuesday Afternoon
Localized thunderstorms brought heavy rains on Tuesday afternoon which caused flooding in several areas of Metro Manila.
PAGASA issued thunderstorm advisory at 12:50 p.m. affecting Metro Manila, Bataan (Morong), Rizal (Antipolo), Nueva Ecija (Laur), Bulacan (Norzagaray), Cavite, Batangas, Quezon and Zambales which may persist within two hours.
Thunderstorm is also expected to affect over Tarlac and Pampanga provinces and other areas of Bataan, Rizal, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan within the next two hours.
PAGASA advised to take precautionary measures against heavy to intense rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flash floods.
PAGASA weather forecaster Fernando Cada said the convective activity brought about by intense heat triggered the formation of more cumulonimbus clouds or dark clouds associated with thunderstorms that bring rains.
Cada also said that no weather disturbance to develop into tropical cyclone near the Philippine Area of Responsibility. (PNA) LGI/CLTC
