Tokyo (PNA/Xinhua) — A panel advising the Japanese government on economic policy is expected to discuss a proposal Tuesday to further ease visa requirements to draw more tourists from such countries as China, India and Brazil as a step to revitalize local economies, government sources said.

The proposal comes at a time when Japan is seeing a record number of foreign tourists on the back of the yen’s depreciation and relaxed visa requirements for Chinese and other Asian visitors. (PNA/Xinhua) JBP/SSC
