2 Big-time Drug Pushers Nabbed in Basilan

Isabela City, Basilan (PNA) -– Police have arrested two alleged big-time drug pushers and seized PHP200,000 worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in the city, an official said Wednesday.

Supt. Jerome Afuyog Jr., local police chief, identified the arrested suspects as Reymando Soriano alias “Bornok” and his wife, Marivic Martinez.

Afuyog said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at Barangay Kaumpurnah-Zone II.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects one big pack and five medium-sized sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu with an estimated market value of PHP200,000, PHP4,180 cash and other drug paraphernalia.

He disclosed the buy-bust operation was carried out following days of surveillance on the suspects’ illegal activities.

He said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects. (PNA) FFC/BNB/TPGJR/NOEL M. MIRASOL
