1,500 Seniors Receive Free Medical Check-up
At least 1,500 senior citizens from Pinamungajan, a Midwestern town of Cebu, were given free medical check-up by the Capitol.
Magdaleno Valdez of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Department said the program is part of the Capitol’s assistance to Cebu’s aged individuals.
For this year, at least 60,000 senior citizens from all over the province will benefit from this program, Valdez said.
Pinamungajan is the first local government unit that the “Halad kay Lolo ug Lola” team has visited. Valdez said next to be visited are the towns of Asturias and Alcantara.
This project started in 2008 under the administration of former Governor and now first district Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia. The project continued under Vice Governor Agnes Magpale.
