Zambo City Folks Advised to Remain Vigilant As Weather Remains Unpredictable
Zamboanga City – The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has advised the public to remain vigilant and to take precautionary measures as the weather remains unpredictable.
The CDRRMO issued the advisory as tropical storm “Ferdie” has brought heavy rains although this city is not directly affected by the typhoon.
The heavy rains has flooded several areas downtown due to clogged drainage.
The CDRRMO said regular classes and work continue Wednesday but school authorities in coordination with the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils have the discretion to suspend classes in case their school are under water or in conditions that pose danger to students.
The CDRRMO said this city will experience isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms as tropical storm Ferdie leaves PAR Wednesday morning.
However, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its weather bulletin that a new storm locally known as “Malakas” with international name “Gener” is expected to enter PAR on Wednesday.
PAGASA said tropical storm Gener will bring moderate to heavy rains once it enters PAR.
The BDRRMCs are instructed to monitor the situation in their respective areas and to initiate immediate response if the need arises. (PNA) FPV/TPGJR
