YouTube Music Rolls Out AI Playlist Assistant Dubbed ‘Ask Music’
YouTube Music launched a new AI (artificial intelligence) playlist assistant called ‘Ask Music’ that allows subscribers to create custom playlists by entering a prompt and having AI generate the playlist.
The feature was first spotted in July before widespread availability. It’s a convenient way to discover new music without manually curating a playlist. Users just type in a mood, genre, or artist, and the AI does the rest.
However, while the new feature has been made available, it is still not available to all YouTube Music users, as the ‘Ask Music’ feature is only available to YouTube Music Premium subscribers, either through direct subscription or as part of a YouTube Premium subscription as a card in the YouTube Music Premium app.
Subscribers can access the feature by hitting the ‘try it now’ button in the app, entering a prompt about their mood, and then the app will generate a new playlist based on the text entered.
The ‘Ask Music’ feature is still experimental and may not always generate the desired playlist. (GFB)
