World Santa Claus Congress Concludes in Copenhagen
Copenhagen(PNA/Xinhua) — The 2014 World Santa Claus Congress wrapped up its annual gathering Wednesday at Bakken amusement park in the Danish capital of Copenhagen, with Danish woman Helle Jacobsen outshining 120 of her peers and being crowned as “Santa of the Year”.
In all, more than 150 Santa Clauses and Christmas pixies and elves from around the world gathered in Copenhagen to exchange experiences during the three-day annual event.
Various activities and entertainment such as Santa parade on the streets of Bakken, Christmas competitions for both Santas and the public and a large Christmas gala show were organized during the congress.
The Santas also participated in a parade and went sightseeing in Copenhagen and visited the statue of The Little Mermaid, spreading Christmas cheer to the whole city.
The World Santa Claus Congress has taken place in Bakken, the world’s oldest amusement park, since 1957. It was created by Professor Tribini, Bakken’s legendary entertainer.
The congress is now both a professional forum and social meeting place for Santas from all over the world, attracting many thousands of tourists every year. (PNA/Xinhua) JBP/EBP
