Workshop Underscores Spirituality in Leadership
Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) gathered school leaders from the city of Carcar and Municipalities of Asturias and Liloan last May 23 to 24 for a two-day leadership workshop dubbed S-Leadership.
The workshop is part of RAFI’s EQUIP-CEBU (Educational Quality Improvement through Community Empowerment and Capacity Building) project, an initiative to capacitate local school stakeholders to manage their schools. The workshop was conducted at the Bryant George Hall of the Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center.
Selene Yu, creator of the module and executive director of Chevrolet Philippines, facilitated the activity. Yu is a businesswoman who assists individuals, businesses, and organizations imbibe God-centered leadership in accordance with biblical teachings and values.
S-Leadership focuses on the spiritual side of leadership. As the name suggests, it delves into the dimensions of leadership that start with the letter S—Son, Servant, Seer, Shepherd, Steward, and Spirit.
Participants said that the training has touched them and taught them important lessons on leadership, such as how to handle conflicts and challenges while being God-centered leaders.
EQUIP-CEBU is one of the projects under RAFI’s Education focus area, believing that shaping the next generation of talent begins with nurturing the love for learning. Other focus areas of RAFI are Integrated Development, Micro-finance & Entrepreneurship, Culture & Heritage, and Leadership & Citizenship.
