Woman, 2 Babies, Caught using Fake Passports
Pasay City — Immigration Officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) caught a woman traveling with two babies using fake passports.
H M Alwakil Linda, 36 years old, arrived via Air Asia Flight No. Z2941from Kuala Lumpur, January 21. She attempted to enter the country using Spanish passports with two babies she claimed to be her children.
Travel Control and Enforcement Unit member Mohammad Nur Badron noticed that the passports did not contain the security features common in Spanish passports. Forensic investigations revealed that the travel documents she presented were counterfeit. The passports likewise contained several fake stamps.
BI Spokesperson Elaine Tan sternly warned criminal syndicates responsible for the forgery. “Immigration Officers are highly trained in document fraud inspection. We will not tolerate such actions, and those caught will be held liable,” said Tan.
They were immediately barred from entering the country and were placed in the bureau’s blacklist for violating the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.
