‘Withdraw or Die?’: 3rd District Congressional Candidate Receives Threat
Aspiring 3rd district congressional candidate and former Mayor of Pinamungajan Dr. Geraldine Yapha received a threat to her life and her dream to become a congresswoman on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.
In the morning February 20, Rex Zamora, the driver of Yapha found a piece of paper at the back of the Toyota Hilux he was driving and found out it was a note with two bullets inside it.
The note said “ w-draw (withdraw) or die 2 bullets 1 for you 1 for driver”
Yapha immediately went to the Cebu Province Police Office (CPPO) but advised her to report the alleged death threat she received to Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).
According Yapha that she will not take this death threat lightly.
Yapha also said that the death threat was politically motivated as the note said that it demands her to withdraw from her candidacy. (ASC)
