Weather Temp Will Rise by 1°C in 2020, PAGASA Says
Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (PIA) – – Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) projected an increase in weather temperature from 0.9 degrees Celsius to 1.1 degrees Celsius by the year 2020.
Vivien Esquivil of PAGASA central office said that based on study projections, the present temperature further rise as observed by weather bureau researchers.
“We observed that the rainfall intensity during wet season increases and the temperature also becomes hotter during summer season,” Esquivil said.
However, it was likewise observed that while weather conditions are becoming extremes in the different parts of the country, temperature in Tuguegarao City will likely to decrease.
“Tuguegarao City is the record holder for the hottest temperature recorded, but in the previous years, we observe that the temperature is gradually decreasing,” she said.
However, she added that during rainy seasons, there will be higher intensity of rainfall to be experienced, prolonged rainy season as well as prolonged dry season.
This year, PAGASA reported that Cabanatuan City recorded the highest temperature in the country on May 7 at 40.3 degrees Celsius. (ALM/OTB/PIA-2 Cagayan)
