Warden Shot Dead

Toledo City Jail Warden Anacleto Dusaran was shot and killed by one of his jail personnel during a heated argument inside the warden’s office at past noon Friday.

Senior Police Officer-4 Carmelito Hornales said Dusaran was declared dead upon arrival at the Toledo City District Hospital, where he was rushed immediately after he was shot by Jail Officer-3 Donald Isidoro Ramas.

Ramas,  who is a resident of Barangay Kabitoonan, Toledo City immediately surrendered to the Toledo City Police Station together with his 9 milimeter pistol with 23 live rounds of ammunition.

Reports said the suspect got mad after the jail warden did not allow Ramas to go on leave so he could undergo schooling, a requirement for a jail officer to be promoted of his rank.

“Nananghid kuno na si Ramas sa warden nga mo-leave apan gibalibaran mao nga nagkalalis ug misangpot sa pagpamusil,” said the Toledo City police desk officer.

Police investigators are still investigating the incident while the suspect is detained at the police detention cell.
