Visayas IATF Chief to Lead Vaccination for Public Trust, Cebu Ready for Vaccination
Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of the Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID)-Visayas Chief Implementer retired General Melquiades Feliciano will take the lead for the COVID-19 vaccination by having himself vaccinated first.
Feliciano said that by having himself vaccinated first, people may have better trust for the efficacy of the vaccine.
Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH)-7 regional director Jaime Bernadas also wanted to be vaccinated, but he still needs to consult his doctor since his age is not qualified for vaccination.
Only people from 18 to 59 years old are qualified and allowed to be vaccinated using the Sinovac CoronaVac Vaccine.
1,616 health and medical workers in Mandaue city were already registered to be vaccinated in the following days or weeks. 768 health workers from Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) were also registered and ready for vaccination.

In Cebu City, Mayor Edgar Labella gave the full decision to the public whether they wanted to be vaccinated or not.
Atleast 7,200 doses of Sinovac vaccine arrived in Cebu yesterday and is scheduled for public rollout on March 4, 2021. (MLC)
