‘Virtual interview’ Available This 2016

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has teamed up with BPO Career Hub to provide jobseekers online a “job search facility.”

“Jobseekers nowadays should take advantage of every opportunity offered by modern technology to access gainful employment opportunities,” Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said at the recent signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the DOLE and BPO CareerHub Network Corporation. “One such opportunity is Career Hub’s online job search platform, which uses ‘virtual interview’ (which) will facilitate job search by workers, and hiring by employers.”

“BPO Career Hub’s “virtual interview” platform is an innovation and will be part of our job fairs in 2016,” said Baldoz after she signed the MOU with BPO Career Hub Director of Operations Rafael Maramag and Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) Director Dominique R. Tutay. DOLE OIC Undersecretary Nicon F. Fameronag and BLE-Market Information Division Chief Ruth Rodriguez witnessed the MOU signing, along with members of the media.

BPO Career Hub is an online job portal which provides business process outsourcing, knowledge process outsourcing, call center jobs for Filipino professionals, and free career assessments and tips for job seekers.

Under the DOLE-BPO Career Hub partnership outlined in the MOU, the latter will collaborate and support DOLE’s employment facilitation activities, such as the job fairs in the coming year (including the Labor Day Job Fair on 1 May), through the promotion and use of its various digital marketing services, specifically the ‘virtual interview’ facility. It will also coordinate with partner academic institutions that will participate in Labor Market Information research and analysis.

The partnership also aims to provide necessary technical assistance in the development and updating of Information Technology-Business Process Management Career Information Guide and Pamphlets.

“We will provide the DOLE with online advertising services and data management support for the JobStart Program,” Maramag said.

“With this MOU in place, we will also be able to access periodic reports that are relevant and applicable to the DOLE’s Labor Market Information initiatives,” said Baldoz.

For its part, the DOLE will endorse the BPO Career Hub’s other online job and talent sourcing activities.

A digital ad space and links in the BPO Career Hub’s and PhilJobNet’s websites will be also established to allow job applicants to view job vacancies, apply to other employment opportunities, and gain access to other employment facilitation-related information.

“Apart from identifying academic institutions that will participate in our various labor facilitation programs and activities, such Labor Market Information research and analysis, we will also promote the ‘virtual interview’ platform to Public Employment Service Offices to reach more jobseekers in the countryside,” said Baldoz.
