Vigan Mayor Rallies Filipinos to Continue Voting in 7wonders Race
Vigan City (PIA) – Vigan Mayor Eva Medina has renewed her call for Filipinos here and abroad to continue voting for Vigan after it has moved to the final round of the New7 wonders cities race.
“Let’s start voting again. Laban ng Vigan, Laban ng Sambayanan (battke for Vigan is battle for the nation),” she said.
Medina said Vigan and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia are the only surviving cities in Asia who made it to Top 14 of the wonders race where the finak cut will be announced on December 7.
“This is another uphill battle against big cities in the world,” Medina said.
She thanked Vigan supporters including the Leagues of Cities, Municipalities, Provinces, including various government agencies and embassies.
“We’re expecting the influx of foreign and local tourists if Vigan is included in the New 7 Wonders,” she added.
She said Puerto Princesa’s Underground River, labeled as New7 Wonders of Nature of the World, started drawing more foreign and local tourists and more income from P1.3 million to P33 million annually.
