Vax a Requirement to Visit Cemetery Cebu City Plans
Cebu City plans to only allow people who are vaccinated against COVID-19 to visit the graves of their loved ones during Undas or All Saints Day and All Souls Day.
The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) head Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera said that they may adopt the proposal of the Roman Catholic Church, however, the final decision will still rest with the Cebu City’s acting mayor Michael Rama.
Rama said that he will first meet with the stakeholders and discuss the proposal of the Archdiocese of Cebu.
Rama will also issue an executive order that will lay the guidelines for Undas.
However, Garganera did not specify if vaccinated include individuals who received their first dose or only those who already have received their second dose and are considered fully vaccinated.
The councilor also added that individuals who are 15 years old below will not be permitted to enter cemeteries.
Individuals 65 years old and above will also not be allowed to visit cemeteries during Undas unless they are fully vaccinated.
Moreover, the Cebu City government assures the public that they will ensure the safety and health of the public during the observation of Undas. (ASC)
