UV’s Enriquez Wins in Debut Match

Norman Joseph Enriquez of the University of the Visayas’ (UV) routed Jason Sevilla of the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR), 8-4, in his debut match of the men’s singles division of the collegiate tennis tournament of the 2015 Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Saturday at the Citigreen Tennis Resort in Mambaling, Cebu City.

Enriquez, 17, who was the 2014 high school boys’ singles champion, said he is happy to win his first match in the collegiate tournament.

He, however, said he won’t be too complacent as he prepares to face University of San Carlos’s (USC) Riconalla in the second round.

“I will just stay focused and play my best, “ said Enriquez

Riconalla, on the other hand, advanced to the second round after blanking University of Cebu (UC), 8-0. (PNA) CTB/EB/MP/SSC
