UVNS ties up with Above The Line Productions

Calling out all the aspiring filmmakers in the Metro as the University of the Visayas New School of Art and Design (UVNS) officially launched its Digital Filmmaking Program in partnership with Above The Line Productions (ATL) last Thursday, May 16, 2013.

ATL Productions is a media agency that has produced various outputs in the film and creative industry. They’ve worked with different production teams both local and international.

With the goal of promoting the film-making industry in Cebu, ATL’s prime filmmakers will impart their knowledge as mentors in UVNS.

“We want to develop younger generation and share our passion for filmmaking,” said Kaloy Uypuanco, ATL’s Production Designer.

In order for a student to enroll in the program, any gadget that can record a video is the main requirement. During the course of the program, students get a chance to have a hands-on experience with the film equipment.

The school is output-based, meaning grades are out of the picture. For the Digital Filmmaking program, your music video and short film will define your performance at the end of the semester.

UVNS have also launched its 1-year Visual Design Program. This cool school offers you courses that you want to know. For your 1-year program, there’s no more minor subjects that will load up your first semester, you will go straight to the basics of your chosen program.

This education revolution is moving its way up into building a community of creative individuals. “In order to build a community, you need a home, UVNS is a home,” said Genesis Rana, UVNS Founder and School Director.
