US Embassy Sets 2nd EducationUSA Fair
For those who would like to study in the United States (US), this is your chance.
The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines will hold the second EducationUSA Fair in Cebu at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City on Feb. 28.
At least 35 universities and state colleges from the US are expected to join the fair, which will start at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Princess Grace Wooden, EducationUSA adviser, announced this activity in a meeting with Cebu Provincial Information Office Head Ainjeliz dela Torre-Orong and Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-Cebu Provincial Information Center Coordinator Rachelle Nessia at the PIA 7 Office in Cebu City on Thursday, Feb. 7.
Wooden explained that EducationUSA is an advising center or a resource center that provides information and guidance to students when it comes to college applications particularly in the US.
“Education USA is actually a network of advisers. There are 170 countries who have EducationUSA office and we have 400 advising centers all over the world and one of it is in Manila… So, we are the official source and we provide, current, accurate, unbiased, and comprehensive information about US school system, US admission process and the like,” she said.
EducationUSA has different programs every year. One of the biggest programs is the EducationUSA Fair.
The US Embassy will hold the 2nd EducationUSA Fair in Cebu, while it would be the 4th time that that they will have such fair in Manila.
Wooden said this is an exciting program that any individual can avail himself/herself of because the US Embassy is bringing in the admission representatives of the US universities and colleges.
“It’s a good program that we provide because we bring them here and the event is free to students, professionals, even parents, guidance counselors or everyone who has question on US education or US University system, or they are looking for a financial aid. If they want to pursue studies in the US, they can come and they can ask directly from these admission representatives who are coming,” said Wooden.
“It would be good that they come and ask them personally because these are the people that really evaluate applications from the students,” she said.
There is no age limit for those who want to join the fair and especially in studying in the US.
The admission for the EducationUSA Fair is free.
One can pre-register online to avoid falling in line at the site registration, and could immediately go inside the Event Hall to join the fair.
Wooden said they will also entertain walk-in participants.
