Upland Barangay Gets First Water Reservior
Residents of Barangay Guadalupe in Carcar City will now have steady and ample supply of water to reach each of their households.
Governor Hilario P. Davide III led the blessing and inauguration of the Php 400,000 reservoir built in the upland barangay last March 12.
In his message, Davide urged residents to be thankful for the abundant water supply in their barangay.
“Mas bulahan kamo kay naa pa gyud ubang barangay nga wala’y tubig. Pasalamat kita sa Ginoo sa abunda nga tubig. Mag-daginot kita ug ampingan kining reservoir labina rong panahon sa huwaw,” he expressed. (Let’s thank the Lord for the abundant water supply here. Other barangays don’t even have their own water supply. Let us save water and take care of the reservoir especially now we’re experiencing El Niño phenomenon.)
Guadalupe barangay captain Robert Aleonar Jr. expressed his gratitude to Davide and the Provincial Government for helping their barangay in achieving this goal.
“This is the first reservoir of the barangay. Capitol took care of all the costs which amounted to almost Php 400,000. So, thank you so much,” he gleefully expressed.
Aleonar said that while Guadalupe has the Kabadang spring that supplies water to the residents, not enough goes to each household due to lack of a storage facility.
With the reservoir in place, the barangay leaders now aim to install pipes and water meters for each households.
With the hope that the reservoir would be of help to the barangay, Davide urged the residents to participate and cooperate in their localitys activities for their development and for the development of the province as well.
