Unplugged Radio Causes the Burning of 6 Houses in Brgy. Tejero
A radio overheated caused a fire that razed 6 houses on Wednesday in VIllagonzalo 1, Brgy. Tejero, Cebu City, March 6, 2019.
According to Fire Chief Inspector Noel Nelson Ababon, the fire started at the house of Christopher Cirijano, 55 years old.
A radio that was plugged the whole day at Cirijano’s house that is said to have overheated and was the cause the fire.
The fire alarm was received around 6:04 pm. It was raised to third alarm around 6:18 pm. It was declared under control around 6:52 pm and was finally declared fire out around 7:33 pm.
4 houses were totally burned while 2 houses were partially burned.
The damage of the fire was pegged to be P200,000.
CINSP Ababon also reminded the public to turn off and unplug electrical devices or appliances when not in use or is being used for a long time to prevent fire. (ASC)
