Typhoon Tisoy Expected to Landfall Over Bicol Region

Typhoon Tisoy (international name Kammuri) is expected to make landfall over Bicol Region tonight or at dawn tomorrow, December 3, 2019.

Typhoon Tisoy maintained its 150 kph maximum winds, 185 kph gustiness and 25 kph movement in the west.

Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Burias Islands and Albay are now under Signal no.3.

Other parts of Luzon such as Pampanga, Bulacan, Bataan, Quezon, Laguna, Rizal, Oriental Mindoro, Batangas and Metro Manila are placed under Signal no.2.

Northern and Eastern Samar are also included in places under Signal no.2.

Ilo-ilo, Guimaras, Aklan, Antique, Negros Occidental are placed under signal no.1.

In Cebu, Governor Gwen Garcia declared the suspension of classes in preschool to elementary levels in all public schools in the towns of Daanbantayan, Bantayan Island, San Remigio, Medellin, Borbon, Tabuelan, Tabogon, Sogod, Bogo City, Tuburan, Asturias, Camotes Island, Carmen, Catmon and Danao City.

In Cebu City, Mayor Edgardo Labella through his Facebook page, declared the suspension of classes in all public and private schools from preschool to secondary schools.

In Talisay City, Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas also declared the suspension of classes in all public elementary and secondary school. However, Gullas left the decision of private schools administrators to suspend their classes or not.

Sea trips were also cancelled due to typhoon Tisoy. All sea vessels traveling from Cebu/Bohol to Albay, Sorsogon, Leyte, Catanduanes, Masbate, Camarines, Samar and Camotes Island were not permitted to travel by the Philippine Coast Guard Central Visayas (PCG)-7.

Air trips were also cancelled today due to typhoon Tisoy.
