Two police officers under the units of Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 on Tuesday were relieved from their posts after they tested positive for banned substances in a surprise drug test.

Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, PRO 7 director, said the officers would be assigned at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit while under investigation.

These officers are from Dalaguete and Bohol.

“We will be firm in our decision to dismiss them,” he said.

An officer from a national support unit of Philippine National Police assigned in Central Visayas also tested positive.

His mother unit will handle the investigation.

Talino said the dismissal would come after they were proven guilty.

He refused to identify the officers because they were still undergoing investigation and to protect their families.

Sr. Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, PRO 7 deputy director for operations, said these two officers would be subjected to investigation.

“They are charged for being positive. So, they will be treated as victims also,” he said. (PNA)
