Two New Cruise Boats Add Trips to Cebu-Tagb Routes
A new fleet of fast catamarans sail in to redefine sea comfort and travel between Cebu and Tagbilaran, with two brand-new passenger ships designed by no less than the company’s chairman.
Designed to approximate the comfort of a pleasure yacht in a travel boat, the brand new boats come in luxurious full padded trademark mandarin orange leather reclining seats for the business class and aquamarine in the premiums cabins, showcase a much better legroom than the usual class competitor and a friendly crew to make travel just as easy and as classy.
Operating to fill in the need for tourist and passenger comfort in a leisurely cruise, Island Water Shogun Ships is fielding MV Island Biri and MV Island Calayan, two 28 meter catamarans powered by double Cummins diesel engines, giving out some reliable 2800 horsepower to propel the Japan-built boat to a leisurely 18 knots.
Owned and operated by Island Water, both boats also have provisions for luggage storage inside the cabins for safer and more protected cargo, and a snack bar, to serve passengers on their snack needs.
Of the two modern boats, Island Biri has a capacity of 160 passengers while Island Calayan can comfortably sit 182.
During an onboard press conference with Island Water’s marketing shoguns Trisha dela Peña and Thea Canares, both emphasize that their company is on to tourists who wish to get to the islands on a boat with modest legroom, comfortable seats, fully air conditioned cabins, clean rest rooms, of course with free wireless fidelity connection and movie streaming as add-ons.
Two luxury boats that offer premium economy accommodations at P475.00 and a business class VIP at P675,00, Island Water boats can complete the Cebu City to Tagbilaran City route in 2 hours and 15 minutes, according to dela Peña.
Set to sail for Tagbilaran from Cebu daily at 7:15 AM, 7:45 AM, 1:45 PM and 2:30 PM, both boats ply the same route back on a 30-45 minute interval.
Trips from Tagbilaran start at 10:45 AM, 11:15 AM, 5:15 PM and 5:30 PM.
And since the trip is more of a cruise than the fast paced services, every Island trip comes with free coffee and more time to sit back and relax.
Equipped with state of the art navigational equipment, courteous crew and skilled navigators, Island Water also offers raffles and games with round trip tickets as prizes.
Set to find its final berth space in Cebu’s Pier 1 by Monday next week, Island Water is still temporarily docking at Pier 3 from Tagbilaran, assured Cañares, who added that between now and Monday, a barker is stationed at Pier 1 who will guide passengers to a free shuttle to Pier 3.
Now for the weary traveler who needs the rest they deserve after a long work day, Island Waters might just be that pampering option. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
