Two More Airlines Fly Out Of NAIA This Month

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday welcomed two more airlines flying out of the airport this month.

Local boutique airline AirSWIFT held its inaugural flight Tuesday while international carrier Jetstar Japan will be flying on Thursday (March 16).

AirSWIFT offers daily roundtrip flights from Manila to El Nido, Palawan utilizing NAIA Terminal 4.

Flights depart Manila at 6:30 a.m., 9:55 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 2 p.m. Passengers are flown in an ATR-42 aircraft.

The airline started as Island Transvoyager, Inc. in 2002 before it rebranded to AirSWIFT.

In a statement, AirSWIFT said it will soon offer routes from Manila to Sicogon and from Cebu to El Nido.

Meanwhile, Jetstar Japan will hold its first flight out of Manila bound for Tokyo on Thursday.

These flights will be flying from NAIA Terminal 1 every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday until March 26.

The entry of AirSWIFT and Jetstar Japan brings the total number of airlines operating out of the NAIA to 42 with more than 90 destinations worldwide

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) meanwhile said that changes in frequency by the end of March for the summer season will be announced by the airline.

MIAA General Manager Jose Angel Honrado for his part welcome the addition of the two airlines.

“We are happy to announce the new connections that Manila has locally and with the rest of the world,” Honrado said.“With additional airline partners, we are hopeful that this will open up more opportunities for Filipinos.” (PNA) JMC/ANP
