TS Seniang Brings Heavy Rain, Leaves 7,952 Stranded
The Philippine Coast Guard said at least 7,952 people were stranded as of 4 a.m. Monday as bad weather conditions brought about by TS Seniang.
The Coast Guard added that Seniang also stranded 91 vessels, 26 motor bancas, and 239 rolling cargo.
Reports said at least four domestic flights were canceled Monday morning due to bad weather conditions, according to the Manila International Airport Authority.
At 4 a.m., TS Seniang was in the vicinity Hinatuan, with maximum winds of 65 kph near the center, and gusts of up to 80 kph. It had a rainfall amount of 15 to 30 mm per hour (heavy to intense) within its 300-km diameter.
Senaing was moving west-northwest at 11 kph, and is expected to exit the Agusan del Norte land mass of by noon, after which it will cross the Bohol Sea.
Early Monday, PAGASA raised a yellow alert over Central and Eastern Visayas due to Tropical Storm Seniang, warning of possible heavy rainfall and flash floods.
