TS Domeng may make Landfall over Surigao del Sur Thursday – PAGASA
PAGASA said Monday Tropical Storm Domeng (international name Peipah) may make landfall over Surigao del Sur province on Thursday, maintaining its strength after it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility Sunday evening, report said.
The weather agency’s Officer-in-Charge Vicente Malano said at media briefing that Domeng will make landfall in the Philippines on Thursday.
PAGASA, in its 11 am advisory Monday, said Domeng was estimated at 770 km east of Davao City as of 10 am, with maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It added that Domeng was moving west-northwest at 15 kph and is expected to be 480 km east of Davao City by Tuesday morning, and 290 km east-northeast of Davao City by Wednesday morning.
By Thursday morning, report said, Domeng may be in the vicinity of Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur by Thursday morning, adding that Domeng may bring moderate to heavy rainfall of 5 to 15 mm per hourwithin its 400-km diameter.
