Tropical Storm ‘Bavi’ Closes in on PAR-PAGASA
Tropical storm Bavi, which is approaching from the east, is moving closer to Bicol Monday morning but remains too far to affect any part of the Philippines at this time, PAGASA said.
In its 11 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said that as of 10 a.m., Tropical Storm Bavi was estimated at 1,765 km east of Bicol.
state weather agency said Bavi packed maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph and is forecast to move west at 30 kph.
PAGASA also said that Bavi remains on track to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility Tuesday morning.
Once inside PAR, it will be locally codenamed Betty.
