Traffic Enforcer Shot Dead

A traffic enforcer, who was manning the traffic along Cuenco Avenue in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City, was shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman at 7:45 am Thursday.

The victim was identified as Armando Daligdig, he was brought to the Gullas Memorial Hospital in Banilad shortly after the incident. According to witnesses, the gunman was riding a DT Enduro motorcycle, and was wearing a pair of jeans and camouflage shirt.

Hours after the incident, police was able to identify the suspect as P03 Jeofrey Borinaga, who was dismissed from service last 2008 due to a drug-related case. Authorities were able to recover from his apartment in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City a .45 caliber pistol with live ammo, a camouflage shirt, brown cap, cargo shorts, white shoes, and a DT enduro-type motorcycle, believed to be used in the shooting.

Police said he will be subjected to drug and paraffin test.
