Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act Implementing Rules Now Inked
The Inter-Agency Council Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act (TPB-IAC) officially signed the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) on March 12, 2024, at the NEDA Central Office in Mandaluyong.
The Trabaho Para sa Bayan Plan Act or Republic Act 11962 implementing rules was signed by was signed by National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary and Officer-in-Charge Ceferino Rodolfo.
The signing of the IRR will establish the National Employment Master Plan and begin the “more extensive collaboration and joint efforts from various stakeholders under a whole of government, whole of society approach,” DOLE Secretary Leguesma said.
NEDA Secretary Balisacan said that the proper implementation of the act will “facilitate stronger coordination and partnerships among relevant agencies and stakeholders to help implement programs to raise productivity.”
The Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act aims to increase the income-earning ability of Filipinos by strengthening employability, improving the quality of employment, and establishing shared labor market governance through the combined efforts of NEDA, DOLE, and DTI. (ASC)
