Toyota HILUX Versus ISUZU D-MAX – The Better Between The Two
Pickups are a great piece of engineering; they are strong, have the complementing rugged appearance and are fun to drive. Gone are those days, when a pickup was considered dull, a 40+ year-old centric vehicle with basic functionalities and high load capacity. With the change in time, the auto industry has changed the aura around these vehicles. They are now stylish with great designing and aerodynamic cuts, the cabin is comfortable with latest functionalities, and their safety front has also tremendously improved.
Today, we’ll be studying two such high-end pickups and see which amongst the two is better off. The two auto machines in question are Isuzu D-Max and Toyota Hilux.
1. LOOKS
Both Hilux and D-Max are greatly styled vehicles, caring bold, masculine features. However, it’s the D-Max that grabs more attention thanks to its new design front fascia that integrates dual grill design. Toyota, on the other hand, stands indifferent with its multi-layer grill. Also, D-Max has a better fog lamp case design than Hilux. From the side, the two cars look almost same with a few noticeable differences. Talking about the rear, while the D-Max showcases a vertical taillight, the Hilux has a wraparound light insertion.
Dimension Sheet –
First, talking about Isuzu D-Max, it surely has a better cabin between the two both in the sense of look, feel and features. All its trim features leather covered steering wheel and seats with the adjustable headrest in front and center armrest at the rear seat. Enhancing comfort is present, auto air-con system, push start/stop button, power windows and door locks, 12V socket, and 6-way power adjustable driver seat. The entertainment in D-Max is taken care by a 7-inch touchscreen display with CD/VCD/DVD/Tuner/Aux-in/USB/MP3, Bluetooth, TPMS connectivity, and navigation.
On the other hand, in the case of Toyota Hilux, many of these advanced features are restricted to the higher trim, i.e., G. Also, none of the trims features leather upholstery and are limited to either fabric or PVC.
3. ENGINE

At the engine segment, it seems Toyota Hilux provides far more options and delivers better performance than D-Max on paper.
4. SAFETY
In this domain too Isuzu D-Max offers a good number of choices that are reasonably available in all its trims. However, in the case of Toyota Hilux, it is only the top trim that gets the maximum and best share of safety gears. So, if we compare standard safety features offered in both cars, D-max will outnumber Hilux easily.
