Tourism Workers Receive their COVID-19 Vax Jabs
Slowly but surely, the tourism industry in Cebu is recovering thanks to the vaccination efforts for tourism workers in Cebu.
In the ceremonial inoculation, Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez said that the ongoing vaccination of tourism workers in Cebu will safely open the doors for tourism to improve.
Hospitality and tourism workers like hotel attendants, kitchen crew, and car rental drivers have received their COVID-19 vaccine jabs at the Visayas Vaccination Operations Center inside the Oakridge Business Park in Mandaue City.
Galvez also said that as of September 17, about 50% of tourism workers in Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Mandaue City are already vaccinated.
He added that 90% of tourism front-liners who are serving in isolation and temporary quarantine facilities and multiple-use hotels in the said cities have also received their vaccine doses.
Also present in the ceremonial inoculation were Department of Health 7 (DOH-7) Chief pathologist Dr. Mary Jean Loreche and regional epidemiologist Dr. Junjie Suazula who also inoculated some of the tourism workers at the event.
Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Bernadette Puyat, Covid-19 Testing Czar Vince Dizon, and Head of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Cebu Alfred Reyes also witnessed the ceremonial inoculation. (ASC)
