Toshiba’s Encrypted USB Flash Drive Launched
Toshiba has launched an encrypted USB flash drive which uses hardware based encryption to deliver robust and secure AES 256-bit military grade encryption. This flash drive is easy and affordable solution for companies, consumers and government agencies who want to safely carry sensitive data.
Toshiba’s encrypted USB flash drive has a mini-keyboard built-in to authenticate access, and a rechargeable battery to ensure that users can punch in their code before they plug the flash drive into a USB port.
The flash drive is simple to use. Just enter the code and then insert the flash drive into any USB 2.0 port. Once access is granted to the user the drive automatically unlocks all content stored on it.
When it is removed from the port the drive automatically locks down and encrypts everything that’s stored in it.
It even has a Brute Force Hack Defense Mechanism to safeguard against hack attempts. All stored information will be rendered “irrecoverable” if there are 10 consecutive attempts to enter the PIN.
Toshiba Encrypted USB Flash Drive is available from the company’s own website and selected retailers. The 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models will costs $95, $112, $140 and $200, respectively.
