Top Cebu Execs Get New Vehicles
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, who were both reelected in the last elections, now have new service vehicles.
Two Isuzu MU-X SUV models, white for Davide and golden brown for Magpale, which cost PHP1.856 million, have been delivered to the Cebu Capitol.
Cebu Provincial General Service Office (PGSO) head Jone Siegfred Sepe said the two SUVs were part of 18 new vehicles the provincial government is buying at the cost of PHP28 million for the elected officials.
Sepe said the bidding is being held for the 16 double-cab pick-ups for Provincial Board (PB) members, including the Cebu Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) president and Cebu Councilors’ League president.
Each vehicle will cost PHP1.5 million.
Sepe said the 14 Toyota Hi-Lux units being used by PB members are already eight years old.
The governor’s Nissan Super Safari always gets stalled and has become unreliable, especially on trips to the highlands, Sepe said.
Magpale has been using her personal vehicle as her Cebu Capitol-issued vehicle is no longer serviceable.
“They need these vehicles to serve the entire province,” Sepe said. (PNA) LAP/EB/EBP
