To Know Jesus

One of my goals is to know about Jesus. How may I know Him?

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8

It is a good goal to know about Jesus. In fact, it is the most essential goal for everyone, that each one should consider above all else in their lifetime. This is because Jesus Christ is the One who provided salvation for each one of us. We discussed this in the series of devotionals we had last December, talking about the rationale of Jesus’ birth. He came to save you and I because we are doomed to death (second death in hell as stated in Romans 6:23). John 3:16 is the best explanation of this account. Jesus took the place where we should be at -death because of sin (Romans 3:23). God, in His loving-kindness, mercy, and grace, sent His Son to die on the cross for us because He wants us restored to Him.

It should have been us, it should have been us who died but God loves us so much that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus. Jesus obeyed His Heavenly Father in doing this will of His.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
