Thousands Avail Free Services In Talamban
Another village benefited from the free services through the City Hall at Your Doorstep program of Cebu City Mayor Michael Lopez Rama.
Wednesday morning April 6, 2016, thousands of Talambanons flocked in a vacant lot within Saint Anthony Village in Barangay Talamban to avail the various services from the 22 Departments comprising the city government here.
In an interview with the BARUGG News, Lola Socoro Paray, 70, who availed of the medical consultation shared that, “Maayo kaayo ang gihimo ni Mayor Rama kay naglantaw siya sa kaayohan sa katawhan dako kaayo ni ug tabang kay daghan ang naglisod karong panahona. Maayo gyod ni ipadayon aron mas daghan pang matabangan.”
Meanwhile, the free services included the Medical and Dental Services by City Health; Birth, Marriage and Death certificates issuance by Civil Registrar; Real Property Consultation by City Assessor; Repair and Installation of Street Lights and Artesian Wells by Dept. of Public Services; Cedula issuance by City Treasurer; Seedling distribution by City Agriculture; Pet registration and vaccination by Dept. of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries; Pre-screening on Job Fair Employment and free hair-cutting by Dept. of Manpower Development and Placement; Drainage and Road Maintenance by Dept. of Engineering and Public Works; and Traffic issues and Concerns consultation by Cebu City Transportation Office.
Blood typing, Hematocrit, blood sugar testing, and internal medicine distribution by Cebu City Medical Center; Mass Feeding, parent effectiveness seminar by Dept. of Social Welfare and Services; Cutting and trimming of trees by Parks and Playgrounds; Let there be light program and Urban Poor Related issues consultations by Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor; Seminar and orientation of drug related issues by City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention; Information dissemination and documentation by Public Information Office; the City Market Office and PROBE Team who served as a facilitators and liaisons; and Fire Safety orientation by City Fire Station, among several others were also offered.
During the activity, former City Councilor Edwin Jagmoc who is the consultant on Public Services and Barangay Affairs dropped by and gave the rationale and message in behalf of Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama. He thanked everyone who supported the activity.
Nursing students from the University of the Visayas College of Nursing and members of the Gabay Sugbuanon Talam,ban Chapter also rendered their services especially in the getting of the vital signs of the patients and served as facilitators during the event respectively..
Representative from Taisho Pharmaceuticals (Philippines) Inc. also joined in the activity who provided freebies in exchange of empty boxes of Paracetamol Tempra.
Talamban Barangay Councilor Alex Leyson and former Councilor Ronnie Caminade who is now the assistant chief of the Barangay Affairs Unit also showed their support for the success of the Frontline Services for their constituents.
