Thousands Avail Free Services In Barangay Duljo Fatima
Another barangay benefited from the free services of the Cebu City Government’s Frontline Cluster Services through the ‘City Hall at Your Doorstep’ program of Mayor Michael Rama.
For the Sixth time around since the program started in 2010, the activity was successfully held in Barangay Duljo Fatima extending helping hands to its residents today May 3, 2016 Tuesday.
Thousands of Duljoanons flocked to their Sports Complex to avail of the free services. One of them was Lola Ricarda Rabaya, 66, who availed of the Medical Consultation.
In an interview with the BARUGG News, Lola Ricarda shared that the activity is of great help the people especially the less fortunate. He said, “Maayo kaayo ang gihimo ni Mayor Rama kay naglantaw siya sa kaayohan sa katawhan labi na ang mga kabus.”
For Joemar Peregrino, 57, who also availed of the Medical Consultation, he lauded Mayor Rama for creating the “City Hall at Your Doorstep” which was not conducted during the term of the Tomas Osmena.
Joemar further shared, “Karon ra gyod ni nahitabo sa panahon ni Mayor Rama, saunang panahon wala gyod mi katagam,tam ug pareha ingon niani nga mga serbisyo dinhi mismo sa among barangay.”
Meanwhile, among the services rendered were medical and dental consultations with free medicines, random blood sugar testing, blood typing, circumcision operation and feeding for children, Cedula issuance and anti-rabies vaccination for dogs and cats.
Other services offered were the repair and installation of street lights and artesian wells, consultation on traffic issues and concerns, consultations on the ‘Let there be Light Program’ and urban poor related issues, free hair cutting, job placement referral, pruning and trimming of trees, consultation on drug related issues, and vaccinations for pneumonia prevention, among several others.
Mayor Rama aims to bring the services of the 22 departments comprising the city government closer to the people and avail it for free sans going to the Cebu City Hall. The program has become institutionalized.
Barangay Duljo Fatima officials and workers led by Captain Elmer Abella also showed support for the huge success of the half-day activity. The village has at least 17,670 residents living in at least 36 Sitios. It is located in the city’s South District and about 20 to 30 minutes away from the Cebu City Hall.
Cebu City Councilor Nendell Hanz Abella also graced the activity and gave his message in behalf of Mayor Rama. He thanked everyone who supported the city’s community outreach program in bringing in services of the Cebu City Government right at the doorsteps of the Cebuanos.
