The Reason Why You’re Here
The reason why you are here abounds in numbers and forms and varieties.
It could be that you are stuck in a cubicle, in a job you do not enjoy because you were forced to take a college program that you never felt for.
It could be that you are shouting profanities at a lover who jilted you on the sidewalk, and you wonder what went wrong when you gave your best at love, but still hit rock bottom.
It could be that you are at the top of the honor roll and the school praises your name, but you aren’t really happy, because your parents are unsatisfied and unloving.
It could be that you are a proficient worker dedicated in your field, but you don’t get much attention, certainly no promotion or recognition, because the system is defective and have a knack for playing you like a pig.
It could be that you have a circle of friends but still feel alone, because they aren’t the type to listen; they aren’t there for your soul.
It could be that you love someone but keep your feelings enclosed; closeted and locked tight, because people talk and talk, even when it’s just love and nothing’s really wrong.
It could be that the reason why you are here is not mentioned in my ramblings, but that doesn’t make it any less worthy of being talked about and expressed, because your experiences, your circumstances, your life is all worthwhile.
It could be that you think you are worthless, and incapable of success, love, joy, and all things well and good.
I beg to disagree.
I may not know who you are personally, but believe me when I say you are worthy and you are capable of all things well and good.
There is no “could be” in that.
The reason why you’re here may be cold and gloomy, but the reason why you can be there, somewhere else in a brighter place and day… is you.
