The Magic of Baking Soda

Published

on

Finding the right solution for your skin problems can be a difficult risk to take. Many of us use branded and expensive whitening soaps, powders, lotions and etc. but never get the results we wanted. All the money and time we spend looking for a skin-care solution can be wasted through unlucky experiences. However, there is this one powder from our very own kitchen that can do the trick. Ladies, I’m glad to say, it is baking soda.

5 Beauty Treatments That a Kitchen Baking Soda Can Do

1. Lightening Scrub

Mix a small amount of baking soda and water. After mixing, apply it to the dark areas in your skin and gently rub it in a circular motion. Leave it to dry for about 30 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water. It leaves your skin smooth and gives it the glow that no other lotion can give you.

2. Facial Scrub

Make your own exfoliating facial scrub using baking soda. Mix three parts baking soda to one part water. Rub it on your face using gentle, circular strokes. Leave it on to dry for about 5 minutes. Then tenderly rinse with warm water.

3. Teeth Whitening

Just add a little bit of baking soda to your regular toothpaste when brushing your teeth- it will easily blend in since it is powder. Use this toothpaste for 2-3 days within the week then switch back to using your ordinary toothpaste. It is advisable to ask for a professional’s opinion beforehand especially if you have sensitive teeth or gums.

4. Cleansing Shampoo

Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with one tablespoon of your favorite shampoo. Wash your hair with this mixture. After rinsing thoroughly, you will notice that your hair will become squeaky clean and manageable. It is highly recommended to use this once or twice in a month.

5. Bath Soak

Add a bit of any essential oils of your choice, coconut oil and -of course- baking soda in your tub. Scrub yourself clean with a loofah sponge or body brush first before soaking yourself in for a few minutes (preferably 20 minutes). Rinse off the excess residues with soap and water afterwards. Enjoy healthy and soft skin with this bath soak mixture. Baking Soda is an alkaline and therefore, neutralizes our body’s acidity. It detoxifies and cleanses our body from toxins, thus it leaves our skin smooth and silky.
