Ten Cebuanos to Receive TOCA Awards Saturday

Ten Cebuanos who are identified as most outstanding in their respective fields of endeavor are scheduled to receive The Outstanding Cebuano Awards (TOCA) on August 16, 2014 at 7:00 in evening at the Sacred Heart Center, D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City.

Engr. Greg S. Senining Executive Director of Tingog sa Lungsod Program over DYDD Bantay Radyo said this is the 14th year of TOCA celebration, his own prestigious project.

Senining said there are plenty of Cebuanos who are successful in their respective field of business and professions and contributed much to their communities on nation building.

“But every year I have to pick up only the best ten among them particularly this year’s TOCA celebration”, Senining said.

He also said the selection process was made by the executive committee of TOCA Program whose task is to monitor and observe the best persons in Cebu province whose sense of responsibilities are rated as excellent in their respective fields of business and other professions.

Senining added that to be an awardee, a nominee must be a Cebuano, either a natural born, or by consanguinity or affinity. He must have a high level performance in his field where he/she is nominated.

The Executive Director identified those who will receive the prestigious awards on Saturday night as: Archt. Maria Sara J. Abadia, in the field of Architecture, Mr. Enrison T. Benedicto, in the field of Management, Dr. Paulus Mariae I. Cañete, in the field of Education. Mr. Casimiro P. Madarang III, in the field of government service, Dr. Alfio K. Malinao, Sr., in the field of Science and Technology, Hon. Jose F. Navarro, in the field of public service, Engr. Ramon A. Picornell, in the field of Engineering, Atty. Tomas A. Riveral, CPA, in the field of Law/Poverty Alleviation, Fr. Agustin Sollano, Jr., in the field of arts and humanities, and Mr. Baltazar S. Tribunalo, Jr. in the field of environment/disaster risk reduction management.
